I have a stand of early 1970's Sinclair's with full imit. ivory. I've been considering having them refurbished with new mounts and furrels. I've read this is "risky", has anyone had this done? Would this adversely affect the collector value? Any and all thoughts or comments are welcome.
Cheers,
Jeff M.

It's not risky if it's done by a good pipe maker!

Don't try to do it yourself - unless you have three or more years experience making pipes.

With pipes of that age, it will not affect the 'collectibility.' Might improve their value. Won't be cheap, though.
