Hello All,

I just purchased a set of the new Selbie drone reeds and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them....good or bad, I happen to like them. Just wondering if anyone had any thing to share about them.

Thanks

Yes, I switched to them two weeks ago. They are fantastic. I had trouble at first with the strike in, but a small adjustment to the bass reed and finding a different spot on the bag to push solved the problem.
These reeds even get better the more you play them. They have great volumn and tone and even take less air than the other reeds I have played.
The more you play them the more you will love them.

Tempermental strike-in until I adjusted my technique. Less air consumption than anything else I have tried.
Good reeds, but pitched too high for my current setup. The only way I could get the drones back from teetering too close to the top was to remove the tuning screw and plug the hole.
However, I bet that they should work really well in most pipes.

Puchased a set with my new Kintail pipes and absolutely love them <img border="0" alt="[love]" title="" src="graemlins/love.gif" /> . They use very little air and produce a stong, steady, mellow tone. No problems were encountered in the setup of these drones, so far so good.
Cheers
