Anyone know where I might find it. Apparently my pipey heard it in a movie last nite, now I'm on a mission. TIA

It was written for the 2005 movie Joyeux Noel/Merry Christmas. You'll probably have to learn it by ear. The film is well worth seeing.

Hmm, I was afraid that was the case. I appreciate the help.

See the movie. It's good, and you can pick up the tune by ear.

According to the Joyeux Noël wiki article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joyeux_Noël#Soundtrack): "I'm Dreaming of Home" ('In' version) Composed by Philippe Rombi Performed by Griogair Lawrie, David Bruce, Ivan McDonald and Calum Anthony Beaton (Bagpipe Ensemble).

On Remembrance Day, CBC re-played the re-dedication of the Vimy Memorial, which occurred last spring. There was a lot of music, including a youth choir from PEI which sang "I'm Dreaming of Home", alternating with a piper. Very moving (both that part and the entire ceremony.) One of the best pieces was a female Métis fiddler, way up on the top of the base of the memorial, playing a traditional Métis fiddle tune, "Lament for the Warrior." Marvellous setting, and top-notch execution.

I wonder if we "southerners" might find that online somewhere? Would you pass more details? Name of the program? Produced by? Etc?

It was the CBC, our national public broadcaster. They had live coverage of the re-dedication ceremony last April, which they re-played on November 11.

I've poked around on the CBC web-page on Vimy (http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/vimy/), but I've not found a link to the video. You might try contacting them for help?

Here's a link to a blogger who recorded it, but says he lacks the techno savvy to post it on-line: City in the Trees: Vimy Re-dedication Ceremony (http://cityinthetrees.blogspot.com/2007/04/dreaming-of-home-vimy-ridge.html)

I found these on Youtube I'm Dreaming of Home (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAZPbaqNWkw) and tune, film clips and the words. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJqK5Hd61sk&feature=related) and with Harry Potter and beginning with pipes. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-YSY7CqIYY&feature=related)

It might be easier to transcribe the tune from these rather than the film.

Cheers! PHIL
