Having some trouble finding decent spats for my #1s.

The velcro closures, even brand new, seem to open at the side whenever.

Does anybody have a source for spats, either "full button" models or a brand of velcro that stays closed?

Thanks.

I got mine from J. Higgins Ltd. (http://www.jhiggins.net/sf_catproductlist.asp?sf_p_CID=0U605491VM3BC0IT6IB C8FLSRP) and have never had a problem. They offer three widths for a better fit. Never had a problem with the Velcro coming undone. Consider getting black buttons to look really sharp.

I tried a few Pakistani suppliers but found them of lower quality, light material and poor quality assembly and they did not fit well.. One sample actually arrived with a grease stain on it. If they are so careless that they would send a dirty sample for a band order imagine what they would do after they had the order.

Cheers! PHIL

I'm in the same boat at the moment. We wear black button, all button (no velcro) spats, and have for years. However the vendor we last used, is no longer in business.

I've gotten new ones made by Locharron, and once they arrived (quite pricey to boot), they were an inch taller than the old ones. The result was that the tops of the spats came well up to the calf. Well, several of us guys, have rather manly calves. The end result is that no matter the "size", we can't wear them.

Add to that that the is little in the way of reinforcement around the button holes etc.. Frankly, those spats look more worn, after one or two wearings, than our "old" ones which are 4-5 years old.

I have one more place to try. May be a bit before I get a pair in, but if they're good, I'll be sure to let all know.
