History of bagpipe tunes

Does anyone know of any websites that would have the histories of bagpipe tunes?

No. But if you ask here about a specific tune you'll probably get an answer.

On second thoughts, yes, Andrew Kuntz's Fiddler's Companion (google it) is often useful for pipe as well as fiddle tune information.

If you're talking Piobaireachd, many of the MacCrimmon titles, and the stories behind the titles, are much younger than the tunes themselves- many can be traced in the Gaelic song tradition earlier than the supposed events the tunes commemorate. In other words, take these "histories" with a grain of salt.
