Bob,,

I think this is kind of an odd forum. Why not have a "Vendors" or "Commercial Piping Suppliers" for sale forum. They could list sale items, specials new products stuff like that. You could kind of do it the same way, charge them a flat fee per year or per item however you want allowing only registered "suppliers" to post. Just an Idea.

I moved this post Bob - Check the Forum Related topics list and you'll see we've actually been discussing the ITP for a while.

FWIW - I am getting very close to ending the new forum - Strange because I had quite a few people express interest in the idea, and support for it, but.. so far only Jim has used it.. (refund time)

Give it a chance Bob. I'll be sending my money in a few days once I have a few items ready for sale. Others will follow. Rome wasn't built in a day! I'm guessing Jim McG was happy with the response on his items as they seemed to sell quickly.

Hi Bob,

Guess I was not paying attention. I still think you might aught to expand the use of it and give it a shot before you can it. Charge a flat yearly fee and allow a post a week for a commercial product or website. Retailers could run specials Suppliers could show their wares etc.

I have thought of this too Bob..

The current objective was to give vendors their own Trading Post - since many of them have a lot of things that they'd like to sell that are not really the main focus of the business - Like Jim's example right now - chanters he had so he could test things - now used, and not needed - the ITP is exactly for this type of vendor sale.

My main concern with other types of commercial posting is primarily related to respecting the 'exposure' our sponsors get with / for their banners. If any vendor could post here to get notice about sales and specials, I wonder if there would be less interest in banners.. and if there was less interest in banners, I would have to charge more ( ), and if I charged more there would perhaps be less interest again, and then in time I might not be able to pay the hosting fees.... :D

Yes,,

However I think that the forum sponsors should be allowed to post there as well giving them double exposer!
Some like me have a few services and products they would like to advertise but the waiting list is long for the "Busy" forums (Ive been waiting,, I know). I bet there would be allot of interest from those waiting and those watching that have "things" to sell.
Obviously this would be a pay for forum. How much, I have no idea. Also moderated as to allow only a certain amount of posts. (per week?? Per Month??)
I guess I need to read ALL the forums as to keep up with things like this.

Perhaps I should withdraw my idea, you have enough to do. Still keep me on the list for the busy forums.
