We're baaack! :bleh: way.

Youch - What a lot of email I have right now :wow:

During their regular backup of this web site, our web host had a problem. In recovering from their problem they changed a setting of "permissions" to one that prevented the Forum software from working. Then, their first fix was only partial - we could look at the forum posts, but not add or change anything (oops).. Now 8 hours later (and only  7 hours after my first phone call to them  ), they have FINALLY fixed their problem.

Sorry about this -

Maybe I can get some sleep now? Naw.. it is daytime now.. time to do something not related to the forums..

Oh - just thought of this.. For those for whom the issue of 'permissions' makes sense..

As you know, Unix / Linus based servers allow one to easily set their own permissions... but ... A frustrating story ends with the fact that our Forums host is Windows based.. and they have decided that their users will not be allowed to set permissions - only their 'level 2' support people have that access / ability..

So - back in November, it was a big deal (darn) to get the permissions setup properly, and we had no problem since then.. till last night. It seems their recovery was (obviously) not complete, and I had to 'do the permissions' battle again.. :bleh:
