Hello everyone, I'm just curious to see who will be going to USIR in Denver this coming August from each Region.

The East:

11&Under

THIS IS A GOOD IDEA. HOWEVER YOU (MEANING THOSE INVOLVED IN THE VARIOUS DANCE ORGANISATIONS) WILL NEED TRO BE MADE AWARE OF A MEDIUM SUCH AS THIS PAGE AND SOMEONE FROM EACH ORGANISATION WILL NEED TO CO-ORDINATE IT.

HIGHLAND DANCING IS ,IN MY OPINION, VERY WELL ORGANISED AT A LOCAL LEVEL. HOWEVER IT WILL NEED A GOOD DEAL OF ORGANISATION ON A COUNTRY AND INTERNATIONAL LEVEL TO ACFHIEVE WHAT YOU SUGGEST ,WHICYH IS AN EXTREMELY GOOD IDEA.

IT MAY GIVE THE DANCERS A LITTLE EXTRA IMPETUS TO PRACTICE AND COMPETE

Not too much coordination needed I think as it's just a who's who request, Most teachers find out anyway through the Federation of U.S. Teachers and Adjudicators newletters.

I appreciate that this may be the case; however, it would be nice to see the various dancers from each of the individual countries and regions "form".

Despite this genre of dance being performed across the globe; International travel for such events is still not accessible for the vast majority, so a means of appreciating what the dancers contemporaries may be doing can be achieved via this medium-quickly. But,as I said it will need persons to co-ordinate it.

Perhhaps if there were such an International or dedicated effort coupled with an imaginitve and innovative set ofminds, Highland Dance could enjoy a resurgence such as RIVERDANCE did for Irish Dancing.

I too do not understand your post.
I'm not sure if you realize this or not, but here in the states(USIR), and in Canada(InterProvs), we already have our own national competitions. Where dancers from each region/province compete to qualify so that they may compete for their countries respective title.
