Well, in my seemingly fruitless search for a score for the drum dance (either Johnny or Laddie can be danced), the general consensus of the drummers from the band was "oh that was when we never wrote out the scores, we just winged it".

So, according to them, any 4/4 score or 2/4 score played fast will do nicely. Dancing either Johnny or Laddie to the drums makes either dance really crisp and snappy when danced - and sometimes those dances aren't used too much in exhibition performances with the bands, and it isn't another tune the band (or individual drummer) needs to learn.

Sorry for the long delay -

John What she is refering to is a dance, usually Barocks, that can be done to either a solo drummer or a drum corp as oppsed to having pipes play. My brother used to play for our dance corp and we had a blast.

Sorry John - the dances I was refering to are Wilt thou go to Barracks Johnny, and the Highland Laddie. Dances we used to dance to the drum corps in my Dad's pipe band when I was younger.
