For those of us on the Eastern side of the Atlantic who log on in the morning (when we should be starting work), it might be good to have a "Last 24 hours active topics" option. Logging on in the morning means that the topics which are active usually involve me, Stormy and CalumII. Not that this is a huge problem - it's just that given the close proximity of the three of us, we'd be better off going to the pub to discuss things.

Just a thought.

I fully agree with the "last 24hrs" idea. Many times, in fact nearly always, "today's latest posts" is empty.

As for the early morning meeting of "piping alcoholics" - where and when?

I'll throw in my support. It would be nice to have a 'last 24 hrs' topics. Bob?

I agree, it would make things much easier.

And, no doubt asking for too much, but what have I got to lose: the ability to make that last 48 or 72 hours. For weekends, don'tcha know.

Humm - it works so well for me - (but it is based on my clock :D )

But good points made, I understand the issue, and I can understand that it would be nice to address it - I'll look into this.
The 'bad news' - I am guessing it might not be trivial - a running "active topics" clock would require adding calculations - I don't know how much that might entail..

Humm...

Can't Stormy just set his alarm a few hours earlier???
BTW, he should be on the beat - not web surfing!!!

Hi,

Bob ... would it hurt anything ... just on your server.... to advance the clock... to say Hawaii time? or whatever the best compromise would be..

Of course, I do not know... what other business functions are running on the server that might require an accurate actual real time time/date stamp...

so take the suggestion for what it's worth.

Hi Rich,

The clock can be set to anything, this is not a problem, however the empty list problem will exist no matter what time zone I use. I use my own time zone, just because I can :D

When I'm up early, or up late, I see the reset of the Active Topics, and I understand how dull that is.. but no matter how the clock would be set, at midnight that time, the Active Topics starts over, and somewhere someone is looking at an empty list..

I have asked the software provider how much of a task it will be to do a two day list of active topics..

Still waiting to hear from them.

Cheers,
Bob

Oh well, darn :(

The official answer from the software provider:
architechtural impossibility

They will say if a requested change is just difficult, and they even point me in the right direction to find help, but this seem really clear - others have made the request too..

Sorry,
Bob
