This gentlemen was playing on 44th street with Scottish Power. His pipes did not sound the greatest but he could definitely play some of the tunes. I'm not sure what group he actually marched with.
The mystery guy is Rufus Harley (or at least a wannabe). And the only reason I know that is because his picture was in the last issue of P&D. I bet SP got quite a chuckle out of him.

Hi there,
I play with the power, and rufus was with us before the parade started for ages, the camera seemed to love him!!!
He played an interesting HA - just took his thumb off the back! also a false C (no pinky down) but we had a great time with him, certainly added to the memories of a great trip!

I hear he is a kind of jazz piper, it was certainly improvising.........great stuff!!!!
It would be great to find out if anyone has any photos of the band on parade or at the concert , i was one half of the small-pipe duet and would appreciate any souvenir pics,
