View Full Version : MIDI play on demand

I've just updated my tunes page (http://www.mcclellanbagpipes.com/mcclellanbagpipes/McClellanTunes.htm) with my latest compositions, which you can listen to via a midi file for each... just click the speaker icon next to each title.

I invited a friend to check them out this morning, and she could not bring them up. Clicking the icon just froze IE. I've tested them on three different PCs here, and all work, despite handling them in various ways according to the different software installed (QuickTime, Media Player, IE's internal player, etc).

I'd be curious to find out what others experience when trying to listen to my tunes. Does anyone have any ideas for a more elegant approach to "midi on demand?"

Hi Scott,
Ive just taken a quick look at your page and clicked on the first midi which you've named the file "Around the Fountain" which is wrong and almost certainly causing the problem.

It should either be "Around_the_Fountain" or
"AroundtheFountain", you are not allowed to have spaces in your name of files of any type or folder/sub dir. so either replace with underscore or NO spaces.

Hope this helps,
John

John, thanks for the suggestion... I've just implemented a "no space" policy for the file names and would like to know if that has enabled you to play the midi tunes.

Cheers.

They're working fine for me -- the spaces must've been the problem.

Hi Scott,
Everything is now working fine, well done on a nicely put together site.

Cheers
