On my system (Mac OS X, Safari), the menu comes up on the left, but the content is covered over by a blue box. I can see it for a split second, then it goes away.
The advertising is annoying, but I don't know if there's much you can do about that but change your hosting situation. I get double advertising strips at the top of the screen.

Ditto what Andrew said..., except no double advertising.

For me the crest is too dark to read. The home link in the sub pages does not work. Yes, the advertising is very annoying.
Cheers! PHIL

the person who i am designing the site for is refusing to pay for the hosting, therfore we get the adverts.
 the site works perfect on Windows and the reason the crest is dark is because, the setting for your monitor is different to mine, all monitors are set differenctly dark, lighter.

I should have mentioned, I am on windows, IE 6 and it isn't working for me. I get the menu bar on the left, and the blue box Andrew described.
No sweat about the addys. You gotta do what you gotta do, however, there are some less obtrusive providers, IMHO, but they also have pop ups which your provider doesn't have (at least yet)
Gee, all I get is the advert, no band web site at all.. And if I go to the address the advert say, I just get the advert again..?? WTH??
The site is down, removed, or some bandwidth issue is my guess - but there is nothing there now..

The reason it is down is because we are moving site so that we get a pop-up rather than the banners. It should be up and runnign tomorrow, but the data for the site is still being collected by the director of the newly founded pipe band.

I'm sorry to disagree but I work on web sites and graphics all day long and your crest is too dark. It is not a matter of my display settign. There are black letters on dark brown and they are most difficult to read.

www.dunveganyouthpipeband.cjb.net (http://www.dunveganyouthpipeband.cjb.net) is now accessable, BUT there is no content on it as i have not be given it yet.
Please Close This Thread
Hi Dundee,
Closing won't stop people from viewing the thread (FWIW) ..
I visited, to see the content so far - I have a number of very carefully calibrated monitors (it is not easy to do BTW), for my photography ... I can read the crest fairly easily, BUT, I agree with Phil that black on brown is a concern..
AND - the auto-install of Spyware - WHAT THE HECK is that? Do you try to do that, or does the web host? Very scary to most people I think, and reading the description of IT, I can't imagine any reader actually saying 'yes'..

the web host attempts to install the popup, unless someone is willing to offer us web space (for free) there is nothing we can really do about it.
