I'm looking for advice on which Texas piping competitions to try and see this year. I won't be competing myself, but I'd like to see what goes on. However, my time and funding is limited. From what I have seen, there are five festival competitions: Odessa, Houston, Salado, Arlington, and El Paso.

I can't make El Paso, so that leaves the other four. For those of you who attend the Texas competitions, what two of the first four in that list would you pick?

I understand that the Odessa competition is not sanctioned and will only be solo. Not enough entries in the band competition.Any of the other three should be good though.

The last year we had Highland games in El Paso was two years ago. I don't see it happening unless I organize it. I plan on attending Odessa as well as the ones in Alburquerque, New Mexico.
