Hey, I just returned from a three week vaction to the Bahams and Walt Disney World. While at Epcot I listened to Off Kilter and really like them. Any one else have the chance to listen to this band and what do you think. Bought one of their CD's too.

Really non traditional for bagpies but very good implementation into a rock band.

Jamie Holton the piper is an excellent player, when he does that sort of thing. But he was well taught.

I think most pipers who wind up branching off into more "non-traditional" uses of the bagpipe, with any degree of success, started out well-grounded in the basics.

Mike Katz, Scott Long, Matt MacIssac, Jamie Holton, Gary West, Iain MacDonald (Glenuig) and others who are best known (by many) as pipers in celtic bands can all certainly present a classic March, Strathspey and Reel without hesitation.

There's a lesson to be learned from that. :)

Saw them at Epcot 2 years ago, & really enjoyed them. Bought a CD, & I agree with you Conner, the CD didn't live up to the live show. Still worth having in the collection though.

Jamie is a great guy and a terrific piper. I have the privilege of Jamie giving me personal instruction in playing, tuning, and general pipe band knowledge. I feel very fortunate. THANK'S JAMIE YOU ROCK!!

They do have a live CD now - the only one I haven't purchased yet! I'm going to Epcot this weekend and to the Orlando games the 21st, so it may be time to complete my collection.

We are looking forward to his coming over here in April.
The times he has come over in the past have been a hoot!
