Thinking of switching to a regular teaching evening, to be held in a hall on a Thursday evening. The main driver for this is to get fresh blood into our local pipeband, but tuition will be offered on a "no strings attached" basis.
What are the suggestions for advertising tuition? While it will appear in the PT, the target is the local catchment area, so presumably the local newspaper, library, schools etc. Any other suggestions?

And supermarkets, shop windows, etc. Promotional visits to schools, etc. Local folk club?

It's easy enough to get a local newspaper story placed, 'Sussex Pipers aim to bag learners', etc, etc, just make sure they get the details in!

Cheers,
Calum

Calum,

I do a lot of this. I have a Wednesday Night program. I charge half of my monthly private rate for group instruction. I bill monthly so that my students make a monthly commitment to their success.
I advertise in the weekly free throw paper. Everytime a play some place and some says "those are neat!", I say well maybe you should play them too. I then give him a card. Better yet I started my program in a night school for Adults. They did all of the promotion initially. From that I built 2 pipe bands.

Good Luck.
