Since the PPOD is on vacation, I'll use that 'extra' bandwidth here :D .

From Saturday, seat K9 section A, Grade One arena - made up from 9 photos (the print will be a new personal record for size, over 7 feet in width <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/shocked.gif )

http://www.bobdunsire.com/forum/shorttermshare/worldsg1panovsmall.jpg

And for those wanting more detail, the same image, larger size but severely compressed for sharing here (as the original is 174MB):

500KB version of the panorama (http://www.bobdunsire.com/forum/shorttermshare/worldsg1panossmaller.jpg)

1126KB version of the panorama (http://www.bobdunsire.com/forum/shorttermshare/worldsg1panomed.jpg)

2146KB version of the panorama (http://www.bobdunsire.com/forum/shorttermshare/worldsg1panobig.jpg)

See anyone you know?

I've been asked how much detail was actually in the full size image(s) - so just for fun, here is a full detail crop of just the center of the circle of the panorama:

The largest image shared above is only about half of the full sized one - a lot of pixels there :D

Ok, on the right side of the picture standing at the gate, there is a lady next to a man and appears to be in pain. Didn'd Strath take like 6th or something? Cool pic.

I have to echo Scott McClellan's comment - awesome!

I even found myself in the crowd listening to Strathclyde Police!

Hi Piper,

I have created a new photo album on the BCPipers site - 52 photos of the BCPA bands and people at the Worlds.

I will certainly be sharing a few in the PPOD - when it comes back from vacation.

I have been thinking about creating a photo album on my 'ninenote gallery' area, just 'cause I have so many..

But, I'm being sort of lazy right now, and not thinking all that much about the photos.. (for now)

Cracking photo Bob. I think it truly shows the scale of "The World's" and that's just the G1 Arena!

Unfortunately i was sat in the 3rd row up just back from that big microphone you can see in the foreground so fame aludes me again! :(

Regards

I think I can see Cliff Davis' tan hat down on the second row in the same section. My seat was on his left where the brown floppy hat is. Had I not been in the beer tent at the time I would have been able to see the back of my head in that spot. Unfortunately, I missed both of Strathclydes performances on the day.

How many points for finding yourself in the picture? I found myself pretty quick. It looks like my dad is asleep beside me (non-piper, 2nd world's).

Great photo Bob.

It is kind of a scary thing isn't it David, that in a crowd of thousands it is so easy to find individuals. It occurred to me that I probably have a photo of every person in the G1 arena at certain times - since I took shots from the section A and section C areas - for panoramas.

It is great fun for me to 'assemble' the panoramas, and in this case I think it shows a bit of what the venue is really like.

Oh Man, I was looking for Waldo, and until you pointed him out.. I wasn't able to find him :D

Shaynes22 - those shots were taken with a Canon 1DmkII, using a Canon 35-350mm "L" lens at 35mm.
