One of our drummers is working in Japan and sent us the following...
Hi Phil/Band,
A quick update from the far east.
Today (Sunday March 19th) was the big Tokyo St. Patrick's Day parade. Yes, they have a St Patrick's Day parade in Tokyo, and judging by the turnout I would guess that it's pretty popular. It's held in Harajuku, and the parade route is up and then back down Omote-Sando road. The lead band (and only pipe band) was the Tokyo Pipe band seen below. They sounded pretty good.

They played the standards (Scotland the Brave/ No Awa, Minstrel boy, Green Hills/Battles Over, and a couple of other I couldn't identify)
It was fun to watch, but kind of strange... Bagpipes in Tokyo...
