I guess this is the way of today. From tonight's Annual Gathering mini-band contest - (FWIW - I have tons of photos and will be sharing a bunch tomorrow on the BCPA site) this is a classic I think, as parents record their young 'uns: http://www.bobdunsire.com/share06/lp7t5657.jpg
The video cameras seen - at one point I counted 7 :wow: in use in front of me - here you see 4 of them.

From the same moment, looking at the lower right:

Interesting stuff, and I wanted to share.. :D

I'm pretty slow in getting to the photos today - whew, a big day yesterday for weak old me :D

There was a really big challenge with lighting for the band contest, and for the BCPA albums I'm not doing too much 'post processing' - but here are a couple of photos of bands that show the venue (these were made up of of two photos each - one shot at a shutter speed of 125th to get the band, and one at 1/10th (!) to get the crowd - merging is done in PhotoShop:

In the lower right you see the judges.

And the new band in our area, Greighlan Crossing (G3), in their first contest:

And of course, a photo of the winner of the Cairn - in a class with Jack Lee, Alastair Gillies, Bruce Gandy, Jori Chisholm, and tons more, the winner was (for the second time):

Andrew Bonar :thumb:

Finally, a look at the audience, from the side of the stage:

Here's a shot from the Pro Jigs contest that goes to show people have varying degrees of interest in piping... Or they multitask very well!

That's Jori Chisholm's mother. Though she doesn't display it in that photo, she is actually a very keen piping spectator.
