I just posted a few band/piper/drummer photos from the Pomona Games on Saturday.
www.flickr.com/photos/casualclicks (http://www.flickr.com/photos/casualclicks)

I haven't been able to get to any games in many years due to work, but was very excited and impressed by the dedication and excellence in performing that I saw. Congratulations to all who competed!

Kirsten,
Your comment made me laugh. I noticed you're from Vancouver. Were you at the Pomona Games and by any chance do you play with the RMM Band?

If so (or if you anyone who does), your performances were absolutely wonderful. I was amazed to hear such great musicianship (and obvious dedication) coming from those much younger than many of the older folks competing. And the 3 and 4 bands took top honors as well. I took moderate quality video (using my digital camera)of their Saturday competition.

the "beautiful girl" pic is the grade 4 pipe major from Blandfords.

Sorry boys, she's married

Thanks for posting all the pix! As a parent of an RMMer, it was great to see the venue (although NOT looking forward to the state of the shoes and socks after seeing the massed bands marching on that dirt!)

NAE! I played for their worst enemy! (ok, they were our worst enemy - they probably don't know we exist though..) the dang kids can play though.. (all borg-ness aside).

I'm attempting to vault myself up a grade so I don't have to deal with the little %$#$#@@s anymore

Your comments are understandable...they definitely are good.

I'm glad that the weather was "chamber of commerce" for them...It couldn't have been too much nicer. Not like the swimming pool we had around here for the Rose Parade.

I've added some new photos today of the Pomona Games. A total of 57 now and a separate set of 28 photos for the Robert Malcolm Memorial Band.
Spread the link if you see anyone you know.

Maybe you already know, but photobucket allows you to upload video clips, as does youtube.com.

Great pictures!
Of course my butt is to the camera in one of them. The "Dewars Man" is Joe Hosch, drum major for the LA Scots G4 band, and you're right, he is patient, and a real great guy.

Martin,
Thanks for the info on your butt...hahahah. No, I'm not going to look thru all my photos searching for your butt...hahahaha.

Thanks for the info on Joe Hosch. At first I had titled one of the photos with him in it, as being the LA Scot's drum major. But then I went to the LA Scot's website and he wasn't listed anywhere or in any photos, but then again, their site seemed rather outdated.

If you go to the website band roster you will find Joe on the Grade Four list. Ken Misch is the Drum major for the Grade One band.

There are alot of kids (including mine) who were in the games and are surfing this site, looking for pictures of themselves or friends, and really don't need to see this.

There are so many other terrific pictures from Pomona Games that the photographer posted; I don't think anyone is really going to miss this one.

Thank you,
Piper Mom :)

When I "try" to be funny...nobody notices.

(Or maybe folks are trying to remain quiet about it, so as to not get me excited before professional" help arrives.)
