I have a video of the 1st Bat. Black Watch and they play part of the tune named by the commentator as "Caledonia". I think I would like to learn it but can find it nowhere.
Does any one know about this tune and where I might find the music?

I found "Caledonia" in "Pipe Music From Cape Breton and Away"
This book by Allan J. MacKenzie. If this is the same tune it lists DougieMacLean,Dunkeld as composer.Nice 6/8
Website for Allan MacKenzie is

Thank you Borderpiper. I did a search on the web site indicated but was unable to locate the tune you mentioned. I rather think that it is a different score as, the one on the video, is much more of an air than a marching tune

the group Cromdale (John Walsh, Ian Anderson, Bobby Watt et al) recorded a vocal/guitar version of a song Caledonia, don't know if there is a pipe score or not, you might try an email to John at his pipemaking site. My copy is a 33 1/3 record, don't know if a CD was ever done.

I am fairly certain that the Barra MacNeils as well as the Irish Decendants have recorded the tune. You may be able to approach them for a copy and transpose(?) it for pipes. I'm a drummer so not sure if this can be done, but might as well give it a shot. The composer is Doug MacLean as was already mentioned. Hope this may help.

It is a Dougie MacLean song, though I'm sure he didn't write a bagpipe score! Here's a link to his web site. Perhaps you can contact him about getting the music and move it to the pipes yourself.

The pipe score is in the book. I have it. For some reason not all the tunes are listed on the website index of tunes. There are about 100 tunes altogether. They would leave out that one! It is on The Barra Mac Neils Closer to Paradise CD on track 9. Not pipes though.
