Hi, Peter... we have to stop meeting like this...

Your ABW/Bois de Rose pipes produce a bold sound... your Delrins are louder.... have you ever played around with a decibel meter and quantified the difference...

Have you found some drone reed makers are louder/softer in your pipes than others? Again quantified at all? i.e. what decibel readings are your drones in general with what reeds.

I imagine the Omegas you are experimenting with started out very loud? especially compared with your "standard issue" EZeedrones?

Well, Rich, it's better than a head on collision.

Not yet, but I have thought about doing just what you say. I need the baseline values so I can evaluate new reeds in the future.

Again, I don't have DB values to refer to, but the original Shepherd plastic drones reeds are just to loud and harsh in my Delrins, but they can be adjusted to sound quite good in my Bois de Rose drones.

Yes, right out of the box, Omegas were very loud in all 3 materials I use for my drones. But, then again, Omegas are not plug and play. I do have several customers settng up Omegas, and they have promised to give me feedback as soon as they can. I feel that Omegas will do a very good job once the right adjustments are found.
