Hello,

I'm interested in obtaining a Kinnarid bass drone. The whole set is a bit expensive for me right now. I don't have a local pipe retailer, and all the Internet sites I have visited seem to sale your reeds as a set. Right now I'm using Ez-Drones, and am o.k. with the tenors, but not so thrilled about the bass. Do you think mixing drone makes in a pipe is a good idea (I have Gibson pipes)? Is it possilbe to buy a Kinnarid bass drone by itself?

Thanks in advance

John,

We currently don't offer just the bass drone or a set of tenors to our retailers. Most probably wouldn't want the hassle of having to stock partial sets of reeds. Also, we do not have packaging. It is not likely we will offer this as a retail option. However, if you contact us directly, we can arrange to get you a single reed.

I think that mixing a set of tenors with a different make of bass reed is quite acceptable. This is fairly common with top level players. I would be a little leary of mixing two different makes of tenor reeds, because they would probably be difficult to match.
