A piper's eye

We pipers see the world differently.

Proof of that, if proof were needed, was what caught my eye while leaving the Doctor's office yesterday, a concrete trash can

"Hold on" I said to myself and took a second look

It does look like a bagpipe part, doesn't it? Love it!

or at least a 5 400 year-old oak.

Unacceptable turning skills!!! Proportions are way off. Name the maker publicly! 😂

Not only that but it has the classic bead on top of square-shouldered band, a common GHB motif (usually seen at the top of chanters, but also on many drones).

I imagine the tone wouldn't be too vibrant, though. Probably could feel it in the soles of your feet. :willy:

How about piper's ear.
I hear something...music in a bar, grocery store, background noise on the TV, or a general high-ish pitched whine that's somewhere between 460 and 480 and my head whips around.

Sometimes, it will indeed be pipes. Some news story or something and there's a pipes playing. Or Mull of Kintyre (I hear that one at the grocery store sometimes), or something like Fields of Gold....the Schting tune, not the piobareachd.
