eBay says Lawrie, what say you?

To me these look nothing like Lawries.

What say the experts? The projecting mounts are very interesting.

I'm by no means an expert but this was exactly my first thought also.

My first thought as well.

For those claiming G&C, why? I don't disagree with you, but I'm always after the identifying characteristics.

It looks like an "R.G. Lawrie" stamp on one of the chanters, possibly the PC.

I can't tell if the pipe chanter is a Lawrie, as so many of the chanters of that era look similar to me. Same with the pipes in general.

If that's catalin, it didn't see an incredible amount of sun (unless it's just lighting in the photo making the ferrules light in color). My Lawries are more orange, and they're 1981's.

The somewhat 'extreme' taper of the
tuning chambers reminds me of some
Robertsons -- but not otherwise.

I'm looking at those flattish, squarish, projecting mounts. I'm putting $2 on GILLANDERS.

For me it's the sharp, squared off shoulders of the bell tops which have no slope. And the flared fountain effect of the tuning chambers, again with squared, sharp shoulders. Again I am only a very casual observer but I've liked the look of G&C pipes a lot that I've seen.

They sure weren't worth the $1135 final bid. I had a grand set of G&Cs on ebay, slightly before this era, where the top profile had no slope between shoulders and fountain, and they couldn't get half that. Seems that sticking an old bag and ratty wool cover on and throwing some cane reeds in the beat up box really helps the romantic buyers. Presentation!
