Re: 'Like' button
To clarify, my time is 100% volunteer as well. Advertisers pay for the server hosting fees that the forum software runs on.
At one time I fiddled with the vBulletin "reputation system" which...

Re: Time zone?
The server is ahead by 25 minutes, it has been creeping up over the last 5 years or so.
I hadn't really paid attention until recently.
Changing to the proper time is easy, but the database...

Re: Posting
Generally that is how it works, unless there is a problem internally with the forum software.
Other possible cause is the sort order. The default sort order is new posts on top but you can...

Re: No Alerts of Forum PMs to Members E-mail
Looks like this is fixed, on 10/24 I made a change and broke the email function. I see notifications going out now. Interestingly, I still got registration notices and the contact form still worked.

Re: New Posts + Mark Forums Read?
That link isn't new, it's been there for many years.
All the "New Posts" link does is fire off a search command to show threads you haven't read, or read but had new posts since you last read...

Re: Captcha needs upgrading
Looks like the v2 reCaptcha mod has an issue (PHP compatibility) so I've disabled recaptcha for now and will rely on simple image verification.
vBulletin v3 is end of life, so will probably need...

Re: Captcha needs upgrading
Yeah, thought I had that fixed with the new v2 keys but apparently vBulletin dropped support for v1 captcha from v3 and v4 of the forum software.
I'll need to move reCaptcha to an add-on mod to...

Shouldn't be a problem, I'll have a look at bumping the limit up.

Re: Why Everything Capitalised?
No, I got his drift, just can't see it as a 'always' or 'every post' deal, yes some posts (or titles) are All First Letter In Caps, but not everyone of them.
It certainly isn't the forum doing...

Re: Banner dot
It is (was) a corrupt gif file. It should be a 468x60 GIF image, but obviously not displaying correctly. I've replaced the banner image with a good copy. Dot is now the banner image again.

Re: PM notifications via email
And folks praise gmail for their "awesome" spam filters, but in reality, they (gmail) are very heavy handed in their treatment of inbound email and bit bucket way to much legit email.

Re: PM notifications via email
Gmail recently started "classifying" email, ie; bulk, social media, adverts, etc. So they may be filtering in a way that some gmail users are not accustomed to. If you look in your gmail interface...

vbulletin, 3.x we've got a license for 4.x and 5.x but I've not had the time to migrate up to the newer versions.
