Below 45F, it's the MaCallum plastic Pipes only...in the very low temps it's the fingers and reeds that go...short blasts only...no time for a concert...folks that are paying the Piper should be told...

Perhaps consider applying a new layer of satin or other appropriate material to the lapels...I've done it with other jackets using fabric glue...not so hard....or, a light wiping of black shoe polish.

Seems that you are playing far too long on those funeral gigs, especially in those conditions..a tune as the casket goes in and out and a couple of tunes at the cemetery is sufficient..no need to do...

This is the one I use..it's actually a micro cube..I can't speak to any battery issues as I always use the power cord but I see them being used by buskers with battery power everywhere....

I use the Roland mini cube...the clean acoustic channel with reverb sounds superb.

Been playing the large size Canmore hybrid bag now for a few weeks as well...simply superb..big effect on steadiness and intonation compared to the old Bannatyne I had on there..highly recommend.
