Re: I LOVE my bagpipes

I have only one set - MacRae SL2's by McCallum. I have set #40 something, I think. This is my first set, and I've loved them since I've gotten them. I've ran Ezeedrone tenors and an Ezeedrone...

Re: Parade cancellations

My first two competitions of the year that I have been furiously preparing for have been cancelled. I was not upset about this, because I felt woefully unprepared (I always do, even though I know...

Re: Burning calories

In looking at my Apple Watch after I play, my heart rate never really increases during a 30 minute practice session to the point that I do more than 2-3 minutes of ďexerciseĒ. Calories burned is...

Re: Pipers Dojo Cruise

This is kind of what I was wondering, but haven't asked. And, I know the OP was offended at 3 free months of Dojo U, but I think they probably could have negotiated for a free year or so. I know the...

Re: Metro Cup

Having gone once, this is what I recommend from my experience.

Book a room in the hotel for the night before AND the night after. Get there early enough, park your car, and don't move it until you...

Re: I hate my bagpipes

Seems to me that the person you replied to stated in their comment that both new and old instruments can be quality. Maybe a quick re-read of that comment would be enlightening.

BUT, I am curious...

Re: Forum activity levels

I'd argue with you about this, but I feel like (after recent revelations) people might feel we are the same person.

Re: How many sets do you 'run' at a time?

Alas, I can only afford the one as of right now.

BUT, if given the opportunity, I would have two MAYBE three: one top tier set for solo competitions and indoor gigs, one affordable modern set for...

Re: Takeaway tips from botched gigs?

I had something similar happen at my wifeís grandmotherís funeral. I talked to the funeral director beforehand and I was going to play one verse of Amazing Grace, then lead the casket out. One verse...

MacRae Repro tenor question

I know there are many of these sets out in the wild, so I wanted to ask and see if anyone has a similar situation that I do.

The inner tenor on my MacRae set ALWAYS tunes lower than the outer...

Re: Solo chanters/reeds

Secondary market purchase. I got the standard McCallum poly chanter with my pipes. The no name chanter was sold to me as a Shepherd chanter, but definitely is not one and I was given a bunch of...

Re: Solo chanters/reeds

I had some success in 2018 with all Ezeedrone reeds (regular tenors and an inverted bass) in my MacRae reproductions and a no name ABW chanter with a Shepherd reed in it. Towards the end of the...
