Murray Huggins of Colin Kyo is likely a wealth of information. While he doesn't make small pipes to my knowledge, he works with antler in lovely ways for the GHB!

US pennies are zinc cores with a thin plating of copper. I imagine there's plenty to last for years in a pipe bag :thumb:

My son switched from child size to ‘standard’ when he was 9 and he is of average hand size.

His birls suffered a little until he readjusted; so I’d say go with the standard size.
