They are...and still make great chanter reeds,..and a few other gizmos to help ones piping along. IMOHO though, superlative customer interface is lower on the list.

A heavy weight velveteen solid color bag cover ( royal blue, navy blue, bottle greenw,etc) with flat silver trim. Cords....currently popular are multi color silk....red/green ,yellow, white....sort...

Yeah.....Iíd agree itís suicide...unless the reed seats are threaded.....then ,ironically, the Teflon tape would be used exactly as intended....to make an air/ water tight seal in a threaded piping...

I was trying to get them set up...band McCallum chanter..... and newish Selbie reeds heíd...
