Jori Chisholm sells a manometer set up for pipes..used to check how steady air pressure one is playing ( = steady tone)..also convenient to confirm strength of preferred chanter reeds ...especially...

... when the drone is in tune,..on an ocilliscope the amplitude and wavelength show up as being mirror image equal above and below the x axis.

Iíve met Bruce ..great chap. Iíve always meant to give him a bell to ask why ..at 2:55. ..he states the reeds ( tongues) are closed more than they are open.

This is a very good vid Bruceís produced several year ago. Iím always intrigued by it ..because when I run the same test with EZ drone tenors I get ca 25 seconds....and the EZ reeds are set very very...

Matt,,,,,really,..Donít worry about the tempo ..accuracy is what will count. Play all your tunes as slow as you must to keep them accurate ..but flowing..not faltering.

Not a lot...but Iíd think drone bush extensions would reduce the drone volume a bit ...the i.d. of the implant would be 2mm or so smaller than the makers Ďbench design specí bush. .
