Photos need to be hosted elsewhere (a photo sharing service) then linked in a post here.

(The only exception is the Trading Post, which allows limited size image attachments.)

Re: What does the EUSPBA do?

I can't speak to the EUSPBA, but I can speak to WUSPBA. Aside from website expenses, form printing, other assorted administrative expenses (postage, etc.), a big expense was running the AGM (annual...

Re: What does the EUSPBA do?

I don't know about "officially". There's more or less a "gentleman's agreement" between the associations regarding territories. That said, the EUSPBA has sometimes been a bit aggressive pushing its...

Re: A homecoming of sorts

Fun. I keep hoping some piping related thing will pop up amongst my late grandmother's things put into storage after she passed away. Odds are quite long though!

Re: An ABW Pipe Chanter Question

Symphonic woodwind musicians oil their instruments, from what I understand. If doing so would destroy a chanter, I'd expect it to destroy a far more valuable oboe.

I know of session pipers who oil...

Re: An interesting piece of data

My bet?

Wedding planning. (Nothing to do with learning pipes.)

But, who knows, maybe I'm completely wrong and perhaps far more women are interested in learning the bagpipes than men.

Re: U.S. Battery Changes/Repairs for Blair Digital Chanter?

I would just email Murray Blair again. He's definitively going to know.

I have no idea on shipping/battery life.

Re: Solo MSR competition, stopping to tune before strathspey

I didn't watch the video, but I've never heard of anyone doing that before. It seems highly unusual. I'd also be interested to hear others' thoughts.

I'm not arguing for the official WUSPBA position—I'm 5-years retired as WUSPBA ExecSec—I'm just explaining it. It's always been a bane for bands that it takes as long as it does to process and...

Richard, you are most welcome.

As for WUSPBA results, their philosophy has always been to make sure the official results that get posted are final and the chances of a change are nil. They check...
