Re: Pipe Band Drumming vs Other Style

I'm not surprised by the result, it's comparatively easy to have 2 snares in time with each other, it's much harder to do so when you have 7. Never mind the other drums.

As for the Old Guard...

Re: It's Been a Decade, any Hints on Getting Back in Piping?

Re: He visits Isle of Wight Games

What if I played JK's score for HW? Or more likely, a score written by someone much less well-known but who's score also fits the tune? How is the judge supposed to decide how well it fits the tune?...

Re: He visits Isle of Wight Games

Some associations do allow for the use of recorded pipe music in lieu of a live piper, but the couple of times I've seen it done it just looked..... odd / weird / wrong / gauche IMHO :willy:

Re: He visits Isle of Wight Games

Because the drumming is supposed to fit the pipe music and without the piper, the drumming just becomes a drum salute since there's no pipe music to hear.

And be careful when you get back home here in the U.S.: you might find yourself wanting to drive on the wrong side of the road at times. :willy::doh::grin:
