Re: Row Me Home to Islay

Thanks Adam.

Yeah, I've never seen a score. I learned it by listening to it on the cd "Salute to Stirling Castle'" by the Argylls and transcribing.

Row Me Home to Islay

Hi,

Does anyone know whom composed the tune/song "Row Me Home to Islay"? I've played it for several years and have always wondered who composed it.

I've used Airstream blowpipes for about 36 years. No complaints so far. Yes, the valves can be replaced. They run around $5.00-6.00. Check your stockist's website under "blowpipes" or "maintenance."...

It is on the 2002 DVD "Highland Cathedral" by the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards. You might try contacting the regiment or the Army School of Bagpipe Music and Highland Drumming.

Re: Most frequent/overplayed tunes for solo competitions

There is a story from years ago which I've been assured is true. At some games in Scotland, Angus Macpherson was on the judging panel for 2/4 march. 24 of the 25 competitors in the event had his tune...

What can I do to get rid of the trailing drone squeal? I've been using standard Balance Tone reeds for 2 days and like them except for the after squeal.
