Name of this Air?
Does anyone know the name of this air played by a German piper on a set of Hamish Moore reel pipes? It is very nice, and he plays it well.

Re: Bellows bother
I apply beeswax when the connecting tube starts popping out. It fixes the problem for a few weeks until the next application. Adding hemp helps, also, if that is an option.

Re: Drones on shoulder
With my new pipes, I've been having trouble with the drones hitting things like the music stand, lamps, bookshelves, as I wander around the room. They have a much longer reach than the SSP.
So I...

Hi Alex,
Yes, Renaissance Wax is great. I use it, and the pipes do glow.

Re: Oiling border pipes
Thanks guys. Probably here on the California coast, once a year is enough. We have pretty mild weather.
I'll ask Hamish if he has any further information/advice about using linseed oil
Thanks!

Re: How do you fine tune a border pipe chanter?
That's funny... David Brewer out here in California also plays a Hamish Moore boxwood chanter, which has toned a bright orange-yellow, with tape on every hole. He calls it his "hornet".
Here he...

I agree with teuchter. To see if the pipes and guitar are in tune with A=220, play low A on the pipes with third string, second fret on the guitar. Those should be exactly the same note. (I used...

Re: How do you fine tune a border pipe chanter
I have seen David Brewer's border pipe chanter. It is a Hamish Moore chanter in boxwood. He has tape on every single hole, I believe. Because of the stripes, he calls it his "Hornet".
Here he...
