Re: An epiphany/blowing tone

Agreed. If one has trained their ear, then that ear becomes an astoundingly powerful tool in aiding the blowing of tone. I've come to find that when I'm facing and watching a manometer, my blowing...

Re: Pipe bag - Livingstone pattern

You are correct, that the "Livingston" pattern will purposefully have the drone holes cut closer to the blowpipe. As for playability, that will depend on you.

Re: Hearing protection

Same here. Highly recommended. Not only do they protect your hearing, but at highland games with tons of ambient pipes in the air .. tuning can become difficult. The ear plugs help me to cancel out...

Re: Can I learn drums at my age?

No "buts." Many people seem to doom themselves from the get-go by letting their age be a worry. They'll essentially assume that their age will prevent them from achieving what they wish. If one...

Re: Orig or restored?

Precisely. Removal of damage/dirt and preventative maintenance does not remove the prior existence of the instrument itself. Rather, it merely recovers it from the neglect it has suffered so that it...

Re: Orig or restored?

After. If it’s just an oiling, cleanup and wax coat, then you’re now seeing the instrument just as it was when it was made. No history is lost, its simply gotten some long overdue care. Im sure they...

And ... just heard back from the retailer. The said to feel free to tell others on the forum, as they would certainly love for word to get around about their good deals, service, etc.
