C or common time is the same as 4/4. C is conventionally more common because it's "folksy" and dancy.... 4/4 is more often seen in the publication/printing of march type tunes.

In my understanding... a drone reed is air-efficient (taking the least amount of air flow needed from your blowing/diaphragm/lungs ... if it is vibrating responsively/fully at your normal blowing...
