That was my first rod tension drum I played when I started. Lost the small handle to lift or take off the snares. I do remember the top snare would always start going down and had to always lift them...

Although I have never tried this, I was tempted to do this type of surgery back in the 90's when we figured out Premier had sent out many drums with shells to high or long however you use the term....

The worlds is not always held on the second Saturday of Aug. Right now the upcoming 2013,2014 and 2015 worlds will be on the 3rd Saturday.

Go to a hardware store, tap/die section, and get a metric 6 x 1 tap. That will clean and sharpen.
Vaseline should not be used. It breaks down quickly at room temperature leaving a trail of runny...
