I find the innuendo and assumptions here amazing, if not disturbing. Pipes had something fall into the chanter stock five minutes before the performance, he thought he had it fixed and it wigged out...

I do what Nate does. Took a while to get used to it. I have shuttle pipes too and those are floppy with a bellows, I finally resorted to putting the shuttle under my chin and just holding it upright...

Thats my suggestion as well. If you glue it the biggest issue is getting crap on the inside that is going to change harmonics. I think if you can get enough in there to close the cracks thats one...
