Re: Pipetunes.ca question

No problem for me either.

I don't understand what you mean when you say that Google will not let you connect. Google has nothing to do with it, just type pipetunes.ca into the address bar of...

Re: 78 rpm

Does anyone have any historical info on P/M's Forsyth and Starck? Were they real Pipe Majors or just calling themselves that?

Re: Difference in pressure need to play the chanter alone and in the pipes

One possibility is that the larger volume of air you are delivering makes it seem harder. It is definitely more work to deliver a larger volume of air at the same pressure. Does it still feel that...

Re: Two years' practice vanishes overnight?

Assuming that you don't have any leaks and that the reed is not too hard, you could temporarily remove the water trap. This will get more humidity to the reed and help it break in quicker. If you...

Re: Pitch relationship reed/chanter

Also, I have a couple of old Hardie chanters, one from the 1950's (distinguished by the lack of a foot bulb) and one from the 1960's. I have found that Higgins reeds work well in both of them.

Re: Pitch relationship reed/chanter

Something to consider is that the staple more-or-less forms the completion of the chanter's conical shape (at least in terms of area if not circular cross-section) so I would expect that a different...

Re: PM Bill Livingstone's sound...

Re: Unbiased reviews

There have been some pretty serious negative reviews when warranted, e.g. the Morton bagpipes issues from 7 or 8 years ago. I posted some harsh comments based on my own experience in that case.
