FWIW.....Mccallum puts out a small ovaled hard mouthpiece tip to replace their standard round one. Screw one off and the other oval one on.

Your group should be in pc good shape in a short while. Stick with it. Scant need on pc’s to overthink it trying to swallow a 16 paragrapgh firehose instruction. :grin:

Set the PM practice chanter...then tune all the others to it. Try to use all the same reeds. Historically Walsh reeds are quite nice ...though I’ve found their new purple color reeds are not as...

FWIW....you might try a healthy swab of Krazy Glu all along the leaky seam and tape with a good hard roller ( eg small width wallpaper seam roller) . It’s good enough to mend split wood ...and split...

If abw ‘shrinks’...the thickness of the wood surrounding the ‘donut hole’ gets thinner ...thus,,,the hole must get larger. ie..The wood thickness ‘pulls back’.

Of the makes you mentioned IMHO I think it comes down to the amount of $ you want to spend. SSP’ are SSP’s Poly or abw will make a small difference in price and sound ....consider how much...
