Re: Tenor sticks comparison

A "good tenor stick" is something like "a nice car" or a "beautiful girl", it depends on personal preferences.

I'm a tenor drummer for more than 18 years and I've played loads of sticks. The last...

Re: lexie Mc Askill

Beste Dutch Drummer Boy (sorry guys!)

Misschien kan je dit soort vragen ook op www.pipeband.nl (http://www.pipeband.nl) stellen, volgens mij heb je dan sneller antwoord.

Daarnaast als ik...

Re: Drum Weight an Issue?!!!

Hey Nathan,

Carbon Fibre sounds good. I know a dutch company (yeah Holland) called Vancore Percussion worked on a new Bass & Tenor line with aluminium shells based on a new technique. The sound is...

Re: Best way to kick someone out of the tenor corp

So CTF, tell me. After you played the whole thing back with your fellow drummers, what are you gonna do? Who's gonna tell the players whats good or what's not? Is that you?

If people in your...

Re: Solo competition etiquette?!?

I think you're right about the glasses Andrew. For instance, my mum always hates it when she talks that I'm wearing my sun glasses because she can't see my eyes. That's the same thing when you play...

Re: Solo competition etiquette?!?

You messed up once, you're only playing for 5 months, your family and friends said you were doing fine but you got last because you were wearing sunglasses?

I think its important to know that...

Re: Head recommendations for Andante tenors

Just go for the clear andante pinstripes on the Andante Tenor Drum, they're made for it. Just use the Remo Dampening Rings with the plastic top (don't know the exact name). You don't need any...

Re: Best way to kick someone out of the tenor corps?

This is a good a question and a hard one too! I kind of like Kevin's idea about changing the band hall and stuff. I guess that will work for a country like the states or canada, but here in...

Re: Define the grade of a tenor...

I haven't been on this website for quite a long time (well I was only reading it), but the topics are not getting better here ;-). I'm a tenor drummer since I was 11, almost 27 now and since then...

Re: Bob Dunsire

I was always too scared to thank you (in real life) for the website of the year award we won a couple of years ago. Now I would like to thank you for the award and the great things you did for the...

Re: New Drum Major...

That's not true mate, Regimental DM's don't flourish on parade but they do on competitions. For instance the young guy (don't know his name) from the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, regimental DM and a...

I have played loads of sticks, the old premier ones, BATTS (still my favourites), Steelo's with aluminium shaft from New Zealand, Andante, Mayor Drum Mallets (really good!) and last year we played...

Re: On which drum should a child start?

Just let him start play a tenor drum in general, so without different pitches. Maybe it's even better to let him start to play side drum, basic rudiments and excercises. You really need basic...

Re: Pipe Band Community and the Internet

Not sure about that. Going back to the playing grade 1 bit. I think there have never been so many foreign grade 1 players in Scotland, as there are now. The top bands all have foreigners in their...

(And what are the good/bad things about the internet within the pipe band community.)

Think about things...

Re: Practice Pad for Tenor?

I think tables are the best tenor drum practice pads ever made, the only thing with tables is that they don't fit in your bag....and practice pads do! :D :D :D :D
