Re: Glenfiddich pipes and chanter makes?

Re: Glenfiddich pipes and chanter makes?

Re: Balance Tone Drone Reeds

Hi,

To be honest, I think that Balance Tone reeds just give too much buzz from the tenor drones. What you want is a sweet tone off your tenors and a bit of buzz and much depth from the bass drone....

Re: Low G won't sharpen

Do you ease off your blowing when playing the Low G? - quite normal to do that.

If not:

When your low G is flat, you will have to move the the sound holes CLOSER to the reed not more far away!...

Re: Carbon fibre reeds, worth tinkering?

From my point of view the ring (Overtones) you get off the Ezeedrone tenor reeds is a much desirable feature. The Henderson deluxe tenors a bit of the same ring.

I have decided to put this set of Robertsons up for sale. This is a spetacular set of drones, but I have an equally good set of ebony Hendersons, I prefer.

Re: Robertson bagpipes

I think my set is comprised of different wood type, drone tops might be this THINWIN wood, drone bottoms are ebony or abw. Stocks migh also be THINWIN.

Hi all, thanks for your comments/ideas etc.

Yes, the tops are new, made in mopani, and likely replaced some bad casein.

I have just received the pipes and still need to experiment with setup....
