Re: Composer of an old Piobaireachd

Re: Composer of an old Piobaireachd

In conclusion is it safe to say The Pipers Warning To His Master was written in the 1640’s as a commemorative tune to the event of 1615? What ever the unknown piper played could have been anything...

Composer of an old Piobaireachd

The Pipers Warning to His Master was written by the Macdonald clan piper, but did he have a known name? You would think if he was as accomplished as he supposedly was someone would have kept a name.

Re: Pakistani Bagpipe Challenge

I would be nice to hear the pipes alone, but I guess that would make the challenge pointless. Although I would bank on them sounding find, and also with out refinement. Simply meaning not a very...

Re: Jaw Pain - Piping

Make sure to practice slow tunes while focusing on not biting with your upper, and lower jaws. Make sure you are just sealing with your lips. You should invest in an oval mouthpiece. This can make...

Re: An ABW Pipe Chanter Question

If you do oil your Pipe Chanter just make sure you have not played it at least, for a week prior maybe more. Trapping water in the wood with oil is what causes cracks. This is what causes the...

Re: Best lathe for making border pipes and GHB repairs

The way I see it depending on what part of the world you live in you can either get the perfect lathe for pipe making, or an ok lathe made in china. A metal lathe would be nice just to turn...

Re: Pipe chanter vs. recorder fingering?
