I was disappointed with the pair I received .

The ‘decorative’ brogue stitching on the shoe top was ~8 stitches to the inch ..leaving a novice looking trail of ~1/8” thread stitch all over....

My understanding is Avriel is EEE width regardless of the width ordered.

In USA, Men’s shoes increase 3/8” in length for each size or half size increase. And 3/16 “ wider for each width...

FWIW... each size larger adds 3/8” in length; each width wider adds 3/16” in width. ( in USA)

Not sure who is Scott Makay Thistle shoes...are they made in Scotland..or outsourced to a non...

I use a vinyl tube trap...with a Trap-Dri gizmo mid way. I recently changed to a Mccallum internal flapper blowstick....no more worries about inadvertently khaking up an exposed flapper while pouring...

The best store bought extenders I’ve used are made by those innovative folks at MG ( Mccallum-Grossart) . These are a ~ 1” Black acetyl body with a usual looking pitch screw at one end and threaded...

I’ve found my poly pipes tenors also tune quite high above the hempline. I use MG White Mamba reeds ...very nice tone and steady...and they stay well set even after ~20 minutes or so standing...

A local State Trooper band ~ 16 Pipers....switched to Ceol about 3 yrs ago...I was there the night they were handed...

The Mk3 and Ceol are both ~480 chanters ( and higher) ...neither should be a problem. But since it’s actually a Ceol....even better...480 with a Shepherd standard molded reed should be quite quite...
