Re: "B" Flat Set up

Hi Guys,

Earlier in this thread somebody asked about the MG drone extenders. It prompted us to ask Rory to do a short video to illustrate how they work.

I would agree with what’s been said in...

I think the photos are Lawries, that looks like the hallmark on...

Re: Drone reed extenders

The part that fits in the bush is quite short, so shouldn't go into the bell, it will vary slightly from make to make.

Sorry, but I'm a complete techno-phobe so cant post pictures, but if you...

Re: Drone reed extenders

Hi Mike,

Yes, it just need to be a tube that lengthens the bore at the top, for the length of the extender though, that would need to be trial and error I think.

Kenny

Re: Drone reed extenders

Hi Guys,

We make Bb drone extenders that fit in the top of your drones, so you don't need to re-seat the drones reeds at all.

It means you can play in normal pipe band pitch, then put in your...

Re: Why are they not selling?

Guys,

Just to clarify, we do use higher grade aluminium for our mounts. I think we are good at reacting to what the market wants, and people wanted threaded mounts, so we changed our process so...

Re: Reed for McCallum Bb Chanter??

Hi Jay,

I would say that most straight cut reeds work well in our Bb chanters, like Shepherd, Anderson or Troy. Ridge cuts that can be more of a problem, they are slightly higher pitched so...

Re: Making "The Purchase" soon

You would need to ask the pipers why they played the sets they did, they have multiple sets and always sound brilliant.

One thing is for sure, no top class piper would play any set that wouldnít...

Re: Making "The Purchase" soon

Hi Guys,

I’m not responding to any particular post, but in this thread and another recent one too there are a few pipers that want to justify what they play by undermining what we do. All the CNC...

Re: McCallum drone design- again

Hi Guys,

The changes we make to our drones were all very subtle, when Willie McCallum came to work here he made some suggestions about how to change the sound to be more like his Henderson’s, and...

Re: McCallum coloured alloy pipes?

Guys,

The reason we did the themed pipes was because we were asked to make them.

We’ve just posted the full article on our facebook page, so you can check it out here...

Re: Cracked Stocks Already on New Pipes ?

Hi Gisahag,

I would say we are what you might think of as volume maker, but that statement is completely untrue. I think it would be common knowledge in the trade if that was going on.

As far...

Hi Conor,

We also make an oval tip across the full range of mouthpieces that we make. It means you can still have the matching mouthpiece for the pipes, and the comfort of the oval mouthpiece.
