It’s still grade school science that h2o freezes at 32F. Knowingly subjecting oneself or instrument to scathing lesser temps is foolhardy. Even the military does not play in these conditions if...

That was among my guesses....a longer or miniscule larger diameter staple,.shorter/wider blades,tied lower,maybe thicker at some point....all guesses.
But none of those were manifest obvious on the...

Interestingly to me, a SGPM friend ...seemed a bit quizzical about them...and said he only uses the makers standard reeds for his Bb set up...playing that same...

I think an adequate substitute for this....gadget....could be made using a standard screw-on bulb mouthpiece and a rubber stopper with a hole in it. Not $20. :grin:

If the maker is using very sharp gun drills the bores should not need additional smoothing
If ‘polished’ further by the end user ...it should be done using fine grade steelwool on a e.g. rifle...

Yes! ..this works great....I usually put two on over the offending hex head.

A little more effort ...I also take a few minutes with a small file to smooth off the hex head sharp edges....saves...

What kind of bag is it that needs hose clamps on all the drone and blowstick stocks? I’ve never had any grimmeted bag the need more than one clamp at the chanter stock...or tied in.
