Ditto on the fact that you should be using "JUST" tuning for a bagpipe chanter, definitely not equal. Just intonation calls for the G to be significantly flatter than equal, and so I believe that...

Loon Mountain Highland Games ... formally called New Hampshire Highland Games. Itís one of the largest games on the East Coast, so it draws in the grand majority of pipers for the whole weekend.

Empire Pipe Band just announced that theyíre disbanding ... so maybe try contacting them? Theyíre local to the area, and I think it likely...

With a reddish hue, I'd wonder about cocuswood. But I do believe African blackwood can have a wide variety of hues to it. My Hendersons are made of cocus, which is the only reason that I'm familiar...

And I'm WAY too lazy to do addition on the spot, so I simply procured a tuner that calibrates as high as 499 (God help us if the pitch ever gets that high).
