1. 1979 G&M BP2 with original McLeod Chanterw. spare Gillanders chanter which can be reeded to play at 466 HZ and a no-name Indian Chanter that plkays in A with drone reeds...

I had one, poicked up foor $25- diferent make, though with sewn seams. It turned out to be quite leaky.

I received one of Dale Jackson's new synthetic reeds in the mail yesterday.
Right out of the package, I tested it in my McLeod chanter alone without pipes, but playing against a synthesized drone...

Believe ot or not, I had that happen to a tuba once. I had brought both of my tubas to a ski area gig, over a hundred miles from home. The older tuba was on the edge of the stage in a big blue gig...

I have been known to play a set on bagpipes while wearing vlederhsen, aLoden Jacke and an Alpen hut back when I was playing tuba and singing in German bands, if that counts.:thumb:

After one unfortunate experience with a drone reed that decided to go see what's in the bag just as the guests were arriving, I never go to a gig without played-in set of drone reeds and chanter reed...

I have a coupler of older Gillanders chanters that pitch below Bflat, so maybe I'll try a set and see if they work with Selbies, and if not, post them on the TP:shrug:

Regarding the bold section above- this explains why oboes and saxophones overblow an at octave, but clarinets (cylindrical bore) overblow at the 12th.

It would depend on what you mean by "Jazz." If trad/NewOrleans style, I know "Didn't He Ramble" and "Back Home In Indiana" work .
(I used to play tuba in trad jazz bands).
