Re: Smallpipes in other pitches besides A or D?

C is a great pitch too! If I ever get a set of smallpipes, C would be my pitch of choice. E and F might be too small for my fingers, even though I think those would sound lovely.

Re: Kelt drone reeds

I might look into getting a poly beater set down the road.

As for drone reeds, I decided to get canning blue reeds from Tartantown (Where I saw the Kelt reeds) a few weeks ago, fantastic...

Re: Drone bore mist

When I am finished playing I unzip the bag empty the traps, and then clean whatever I need to.

With both the new Canmore, and the tube trap the drone stocks are pretty much bone dry, along with...

Imitation ivory and UV

Just curious, for those of you who play outside frequently, maybe from band playing, competing etc...

Have you ever had imitation ivory discolour from long term exposure of uv from sunlight? If...

Re: Drone bore mist

For the past few days I've been using the Trapdri tube trap, I find the bottle end too restrictive.

Just a very very light mist, which goes away in less than a minute. This Canmore bag was a great...

Re: Kintail gone or not?

I see.

I find it quite interesting, and somewhat tragic, that one of the most innovative, and revolutionary reedmakers, who surely made piping much more widely available with ease of tuning and...

Re: Video camera for practice sessions and performances

I use a zoom H1 recorder so I can record and listen to what I am doing wrong.

The video camera is an interesting idea, especially since I got a new bag size, and yes I might want to hook up a...

Re: Kintail gone or not?

Reminds me when I saw a website for Wygent reeds a month or so ago, even though he stopped making them years ago.

IIRC he never patented his design, so all those clones reeds must have driven him...

Drone bore mist

I was playing/practicing some Piobaireachd with my new Canmore Hybrid, which I’m really enjoying, I was playing without MCS for comfort reasons, and I enjoy the brighter tone of this bag, and the...

Re: Smallpipes in other pitches besides A or D?

All very interesting!

Re: Installing Canmore Hybrid

Updare 2: Okay I played it some, it seems to give a fair bit more volume compared to the bannatyne hybrid, which in my experience didnít resonate as much. Iím glad I went with small, the medium...

Re: Installing Canmore Hybrid

UPDATE

It has arrived, and I installed it. I was actually as difficult as I expected, so, not too bad. I pushed the grommets on the stocks using a solid surface, my floor .

I installed...

Re: Smallpipes in other pitches besides A or D?
